Room Refresh Project
About Casa Teresa’s Room Refresh Project
When a pregnant woman comes through our doors, she is scared, exhausted and hopeless. Whether coming from the street, a car or an unsafe living environment, it’s an adjustment when moving into a place that offers more than shelter. We provide a family atmosphere of love and support where she can feel safe, start to trust, begin to heal and take a healthy step forward. Our “home with a heart” is a converted 100-year-old hotel built for traveling salesmen. It’s a great fi t for our use but comes with some quirkiness. While we have successfully made this shelter a home for more than 25 years, it is in need of transformation…much like the women we serve.
The goal of the ROOM REFRESH PROJECT is to make Casa Teresa a dignified and calming space where our women, who are so weary, may begin to relax and prepare for the birth of their baby. Special thanks and heartfelt gratitude to:
The Williams and DiCaprio Family (Room 4)
The Central Guild (Room 12)
Sylvia Michler & Dennis Noren (Room 14)
